About Stage & Story Gallery

Stage & Story Gallery showcases a carefully curated selection of original costume and set design drawings for Broadway shows, theater, opera, ballet, musicals, circus and television by leading American designers of the 20th and 21st centuries. As visually stunning as they are historically important, these one-of-a-kind museum quality artworks offer a unique and fascinating glimpse at the artistry upon which great performances are built. Once a production closes, drawings such as these are often all that is left as a visual record of the costumes and sets that were created. Aficionados of the contemporary stage, lovers of the modern visual arts, experienced and first-time collectors alike, all respond to the beauty and cultural significance of these exceptional artworks.

Stage & Story Gallery’s repertoire of award-winning designers includes Gregg Barnes, Zack Brown, Alvin Colt, Allen Moyer, Carrie Robbins, Carl Sprague, Tony Straiges, Fabio Toblini, Ed Wittstein and Anita Yavich.

Stage & Story Gallery began as a gallery in the Berkshires, the beautiful and culturally rich region of western Massachusetts. We were located initially in Stockbridge near the Red Lion Inn and Berkshire Theatre Festival and then relocated to a larger space in Lenox, just down the road from Tanglewood and Shakespeare & Company.

However, since the audience for our work is international, we have decided to become a gallery without walls. With our virtual gallery, collectors everywhere can now view and purchase these works. The collection can be viewed on this web site and also by appointment.
